Daddy Yankee is retiring from music to serve God after closing farewell tour
Daddy Yankee is giving up his career as a reggaeton artist to fully devote his life to Christianity.
The “Gasolina” hitmaker revealed he was setting off on a “new beginning” to pursue his faith during the last day of his farewell tour, La Meta (The Goal), in Puerto Rico on Monday.
“Tonight, I recognize, and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world that Jesus lives in me and that I will live for him,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a video of his speech.
“For many years I’ve tried filling a hole in my life that no one could fill. I tried finding a purpose, on many occasions, it seemed as if I was happy, but something was missing for me to feel complete,” Yankee continued in the clip.
