Song of Moses is a poem. It is also known as the Song of the Sea because it describes the Israelites’ crossing of the Red Sea, and their celebration afterwards. The Song of Moses is a powerful hymn of praise and thanksgiving to God for His deliverance of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. It is considered one of the oldest poems in the Bible and is regarded as a masterpiece of ancient Hebrew literature.
The Song of Moses is found in chapter 15, verses 1-19. The Israelites sang this song after crossing the Red Sea and witnessing the destruction of the Egyptian army that was pursuing them. The song begins with the words “I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has thrown the horse and his rider into the sea” (Exodus 15:1).
The Song of Moses is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness, and the importance of praising Him for His deliverance. It is also a symbol of hope and victory over oppression, as the Israelites were set free from their bondage in Egypt.
