1. Salve Regina

Sung by Fr John Kenrick OP and Sister Ann Catherine OP. Recording by The Matheson Trust.

2. Ave Regina cælorum
One of four Marian Antiphons, dating at least to the 12th century. traditionally sung at the end of Compline from the Feast of the Lord’s Presentation (Feb. 2) until Wednesday in Holy Week.

3. Ave Maris Stella
“Ave maris stella” (Latin for ‘Hail, star of the sea’) is a medieval Marian hymn, usually sung at Vespers. It was especially popular in the Middle Ages and has been used by many composers as the basis of other compositions.

4. Regina Caeli
This Marian hymn is sung after Compline, in place of the Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina) during Paschal time. Since the theme of Easter is the resurrection of Our Lord, we focus on this event even in our Marian devotions.

5. O Sanctissima
“O sanctissima” (O most holy) is a Roman Catholic hymn in Latin, seeking the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and often sung in various languages on her feast days. The earliest known publication was from London in 1792, presenting it as a traditional song from Sicily; but no original source or date has been confirmed for the simple melody or the poetic text.
