Westchester Chorale makes a Joyful Noise in concert December 16, 2023
On December 16th, the Westchester Chorale filled Larchmont Avenue Church with “A Joyful Noise,” a choral concert that musically celebrated selected biblical Psalms.
A panoply of psalm songs of different styles and periods enriched the concert. Some drew from renowned 19th-century composers like Dvorak, C.V. Stanford, and Herbert Howells. Others were inspired by Scott Joplin, gospel rhythms, or Hebrew traditions. Four were written by contemporary composers living in Westchester County.
