‘Pavitra Mujhe Bana De’ is a prayer song asking the Lord to cleanse us and make us holy. The aim of our Christian journey is to be like Jesus in every area of our life and this begins with us praying for holiness.
The Story Behind this Song:
Just like other songs, the Holy Spirit put this song in my heart during an intense time of worship. The Scripture teaches us that man has only three adversaries in spiritual warfare; the world, Satan, and the flesh. We don’t have to fail in our battle against them, because God has given us the Holy Spirit who wants to help us every moment.
But when in spite of our tireless efforts, these three begin to dominate in our life, we can only pray with complete submission “Lord we are completely helpless, only you can make us holy”.
Holiness is not for performance in our spiritual life but it helps us to be like Jesus. When I started to understand this, the Holy Spirit added the last line of the song, “So that I could be like you”
This prayer and response to the Holy Spirit was converted into a song and our entire team is thankful to God for that.
अन्य गीतों के समान यह गीत भी पवित्र आत्मा ने एक सभा की आत्मिक आराधना के दौरान दिल में डाला। वचन सिखाता है कि मनुष्य के तीन ही शत्रु हैं; संसार, शैतान और उसके स्वयं का शरीर। इनसे बार-बार हारने की हमें जरूरत नहीं है, क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हमें पवित्र आत्मा दिया है जो हमारी सहायता हर पल और हर क्षण करना चाहता है।
पर जब हमारे अथक प्रयासों के बावजूद भी ये तीन हम पर हावी होने लगते हैं, तो अचानक ही दिल से प्रार्थना उठने लगती है, “प्रभु हम से नहीं हो पाता पर तू ही हमें पवित्र बना दे”।
पवित्रता केवल दिखावे के लिए नहीं परंतु हमें यीशु के समान बनने में मदद करती है। जब यह बात मुझे समझ में आने लगी तब गीत के अंतिम लाइन को प्रभु ने जोड़ा “ताकि तेरे जैसा दिखूँ”।
इसी प्रार्थना और भावनाओं को प्रभु ने गीत में बदला और हमारी पूरी टीम उसके लिए परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करती है।
